Abstract The use of organic waste as components substrate to produce fruit plantlets provides alternative materials, easily available and low cost. aim this work was evaluate the effect biofertilization with cow urine on growth cupuaçu plants (Theobroma grandiflorum) in an production system. A factorial experiment conducted a completely randomized design 12 replications including four types substrates (base mixture; base mixture + coconut fiber; cocoa shell sand) or without biofertilizer application totalizing 96 experimental units. Substrate influenced gas exchange T. grandiflorum plants. interaction between these two factors significantly affected dry matter, relative rate, net photosynthetic content P, K Mn leaves. Each factor, application, independently, chlorophyll index, leaf area, diameter, height contents N, Ca, Mg, Zn, Fe Cu (composed by soil compost) fertilization 1% can be indicated production.
